My name is Katie Lescano and I am so grateful to be serving as the Vice President of Membership for Delta Gamma. I am so excited to get back to in person Recruitment this year! Recruitment has always been my favorite time of year because we get to meet so many new, amazing women. While I was going through Recruitment, I was looking for passionate, accepting, positive, and kind women and those are exactly the kind of friends I found in DG. Throughout my experience, Delta Gamma was the place I felt most comfortable and able to be myself and nothing has changed.
When I joined Delta Gamma in the Fall of 2018, I had absolutely no idea the woman I would become. Delta Gamma is truly a place for growth and development. My sisters constantly push me to be more involved and become a better leader, student, and friend. I am inspired by each and every one of them and their desire to do good every day. They give me the strength and encouragement to take on all the responsibilities this position entails and I couldn’t do it without them. I have found the best friends who cheer me on through the highs and lift me up through the lows.
Overall, Delta Gamma is full of diverse, hardworking, kind, and loving women who I am so proud to call my sisters. We are all looking forward to meeting you and sharing why we love Delta Gamma so much. My advice is to make the most of this experience and not be too hard on yourself. At the end of the day, you are all looking for the place that feels like home, and we all want to help you find it. I hope you find what anchors you!
Why Delta Gamma?
Representing a wide range of backgrounds and personalities, every member of Delta Gamma is unique. Yet we all share a single bond of sisterhood forged through friendship and a shared vision of support and community. Our sisters challenge us to grow and transform into the best version of ourselves, while also reminding us to embrace the person that initially brought us home to Delta Gamma.
Joining Delta Gamma
Being a Delta Gamma is more than joining a chapter of our Fraternity. It is the first step in developing a life-long sisterhood and bonds with women who want to make the world a better place. During recruitment, we seek women who will bring the qualities that our members themselves hold near and dear, such as:
• A lifelong commitment to Delta Gamma
• The desire to partake in service to help others
• Achieving full academic potential
• Participation and/or eagerness to undertake leadership positions
• Join activities, athletics, and share talents within DG and UF community
• Strong moral character
Who is a Delta Gamma Legacy?
The term "legacy" is used to describe a potential new member who is a sister, daughter, granddaughter, or great-granddaughter of a member of Delta Gamma. The Fraternity also recognizes a stepsister, stepdaughter, step-granddaughter, or step-great-granddaughter as a legacy. While we understand that sisters, mothers, grandmothers and close relatives will continue to share their cherished Delta Gamma memories with those preparing for sorority recruitment, the opportunity to become a member is the same for all potential new members based on individual qualifications. Once a bid is offered, a new member’s DG relative can embrace their legacy but until they become a Delta Gamma by the chapter’s choice, they are equal to all other potential new members.
If you are a member of Delta Gamma wishing to submit a recommendation for a legacy or other potential new member, access the online recommendation form from your Delta Gamma Member Profile. You will be prompted to log in or create a log in if you do not currently have one set up. If you need your member number or any assistance logging in, please email .
